More Moldovan parties sanctioned for infringement of provisions regarding financing of electoral campaign of general local polls

Chisinau, 27 November /MOLDPRES/ - The Central Electoral Commission (CEC) today considered the data from the reports on the financing of the electoral campaigns of the 5 November general local polls, unveiled by the electoral contenders. As a result, CEC sanctioned more political parties for the infringement of legal provisions.

According to the Commission, the sanctioning in form of warning was imposed against the following electoral contenders: People’s Party of Moldova, Political Party Alternative and Rescue Force of Moldova and the New Historical Option Political Party for the non-observance of the provisions concerning the opening of the account, Electoral Fund, and informing the Commission about this in written form.

„Another 14 parties were warned about the need to observe the legal provisions and were obliged to submit, till 30 November this year, the corrected report on the financing of the electoral campaign for the situation from 3 November: Party of Communists of Moldova; Speranța - Надежда (Hope) Professionals’ Movement; Green Ecologist Party; National Liberal Party; Democracy at Home Political Party; Political Party Alliance of Liberals and Democrats for Europe; REVIVAL Party; DIASPORA’S FORCE Political Party; Action and Solidarity Party; Common Action Political Party – Civic Congress; Political Party For People, Nature and Animals; National Moldovan Party; Political Party League of Cities and Communes and the Ruslan Codreanu electoral bloc,’’ CEC said.

Also, for the financing of the electoral campaigns contrary to the legal provisions and exceeding of the ceiling of donations in cash, some electoral contenders were demanded to transfer the following sums to the state budget till 30 November, at 17:00: 72,000 lei (about 3,600 euro) - DIASPORA’S FORCE Political Party; 29,900 lei – REVIVAL Political Party and 8,300 lei - Political Party Alliance of Liberals and Democrats for Europe.
