Regulation of commission on finding farmers' inability to pay discussed at agriculture ministry

Chisinau, Nov. 29 /MOLDPRES/- A meeting was held at the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry (MAIA) yesterday to consider the Regulation for setting up commission on finding farmers' inability to pay. The document was submitted to consultations with the participation of various interested parties: farmers, representatives of state authorities, commercial banks and suppliers of fertilizers, phytosanitary products and seeds.

"This measure comes in support of those facing significant financial difficulties and who need clarification of the legal framework to manage difficult situations. The aim is to provide practical solutions that can be applied efficiently and fairly. In order to respond as best as possible to the needs of the agricultural sector, this week opinions and suggestions will be received both from the farmers and from all the actors involved in these processes", Deputy Prime Minister, MAIA head Vladimir Bolea said.

It is important that the document covers the problems of farmers affected by the drought and the collapse of grain prices. In the final stage, the framework of actions will be submitted to the vote of the Commission for Emergency Situations, the official said.
