Moldovan parliament speaker has meeting with Danish lawmakers

Chisinau, 29 November /MOLDPRES/ - Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu has had a meeting with members of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the parliament of Denmark, led by Michael Jensen. The MPs discussed the European integration way of Moldova and the consolidation of the inter-parliamentary relations, the parliament’s communication and public relations department has reported.  

„In the last two years, we have had an active dialogue on the parliamentary dimension and we ruled, at the discussions, to identify projects due to help us in the fight against corruption, fight against misinformation, strengthening of the energy sector and programmes for young people,’’ the parliament speaker said. 

In the context, Igor Grosu stressed that the Danish expertise would be useful for Moldova and the opening of an embassy in Chisinau in 2024 was an extra proof that the relations between the two countries were becoming ever closer.  The parliament speaker thanked the Danish lawmakers for Moldova being on the list of priorities of the Danish International Development Agency (DANIDA). ‘’We need, in continuation, to carry out the reforms necessary, for which we have people’s support, political will and they will get us even more closer to our European integration way,’’ Igor Grosu said.    

Also today, the Danish MPs had a meeting with Deputy Parliament Speaker Mihail Popsoi and the members of the parliament’s commission for foreign policy and European integration.   

Moldova’s parliament hosts a visit by a delegation of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the parliament of Denmark on 29 November – 1 December.
