As many as 428 resident physicians, pharmacists admitted in first year to Moldovan Medical University

Chisinau, 5 December /MOLDPRES/ - As many as 428 resident physicians and pharmacists have been admitted in the first academic year to the Nicolae Testemitanu State University of Medicine and Pharmacy (USMF), the 2023-2024 university year.  

The resident physicians and pharmacists who passed the admission contest at post-graduate residency education were summoned to the traditional general assembly, in order to be released the extract from the Order on admission.   

Dean of the Residency Faculty, Professor Liviu Grib and the deputy deans, Snejana Vetrilă, Rodica Catrinici and Lilian Globa, informed the young people about the specific feature of the residency education and referred to their importance in improving the medical and pharmaceutical assistance in Moldova. At the same time, they emphasized that an important aspect of residency education was also the involvement of young physicians in the scientific work.   

This year, according to the distribution programme, most candidates got a place or position at the specialty of Anaesthesia and intensive therapy – 34, family medicine – 32, Medical radiology and imagistics – 21, internal medicine – 19. Also, 60 young people were admitted to the specialties of stomatological profile and 14 – to the pharmaceutical ones.
