Chisinau, 7 December /MOLDPRES/ - The Embassy of China in Moldova today inaugurated an exhibition of Chinese porcelain from the Jizhou Museum of Ovens from China at the National Art Museum of Moldova.
In the beginning of the event, the museum’s director, Tudor Zbarnea, said that this was a special exhibition. ‘’This is a cultural act of an exceptional artistic attitude. These are handmade objects. We, in Europe, took over more secrets of the Chinese pottery. I hope that this exhibition will be visited by as many people as possible,’’ Tudor Zbarnea said.
Attending the event, Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of China to Moldova Yan Wenbin said that this was the first exhibition of artistic works from China in Moldova. All exhibits come from the Jizhou Museum of Ovens from the Jiangxi province, China.
According to the official, China is, in fact, the origin country of the porcelain, known as the ‘’country of porcelain.’’ In English, the word ‘’China’’ means both the concerned country and porcelain. As many as 10,000 years ago, the pottery appeared in China; over 2,000 years ago, during the Khan Dynasty, China fabricated the first porcelain. Moldova also has a long history of the production of pottery. About 5,000-7,000 years ago, the culture Cucuteni-Tripolia flourished on the territory of Moldova, with the coloured pottery from that period being famous nationally.
”The Embassy of China in Moldova hopes that, through this spirit of trade, the Chinese-Moldovan bilateral relations will become fruitful. I thank from the bottom of my heart director Tudor Zbarnea and all my colleagues for the support provided for the organization of this exhibition. The New Year is nearing and, on this occasion, I wish you good health, happiness and success,’’ Ambassador of China to Moldova Yan Wenbin added.
The exhibition will be opened till 10 January 2024.
