More farmers to have access to financing through Moldova's Orchard project

Chisinau, 7 December /MOLDPRES/ - The list of eligible activities within Moldova’s Orchard project will be extended. The parliament ratified amendments to the contract on financing between Moldova and the European Investment Bank (EIB) for the implementation of Moldova’s Orchard project.
Thus, the farmers of the branches of horticulture, vine-growing, animal husbandry, aquaculture and fishery, tourism, bee keeping and the cereals crops sector will be able to access financing for the development of business within the project. Also, the ceiling of financing will be increased from 10 to 15 per cent of the EIB loan’s sum for the components of laboratories, education, research and food safety.
The implementation of Moldova’s Orchard project started in 2016 and the contract on financing between the Moldovan government and EIB is worth 120 million euros. Ninety million euros have been turned to account so far.
According to the authorities, ever more farmers have been interested in Moldova’s Orchard project on the last period.
