Deadline for payment of tax on wealth for 2023 year 26 December in Moldova

Chisinau, 13 December /MOLDPRES/ - The deadline for the payment of the tax on wealth for the 2023 year is 26 December this year. The State Fiscal Service (SFS) made statements to this effect today.    

Under the legislation, the term of payment of the tax on wealth expires on 25 December of the management year. Taking into account that the day of 25 December 2023 is a day off, the deadline for the payment of concerned tax is regarded to be 26 December 2023.  

In this respect, SFS submitted the concerned payment notification forms to the tax payers who are obliged to pay the tax on wealth. If the tax payer failed to receive the payment notification form, he/she is to appeal to the SFS subdivision in the area of which he is served.

The tax on wealth is imposed on real estate on dwelling purpose in form of apartments and isolated dwelling rooms in multi-storied houses; apartments in private living houses; private living houses and holiday houses, the overall estimated value of which is 2 million lei (100,000 euros) and more or their total area is of 120 square metres and more.     

SFS noted that, if the tax is not paid till 26 December 2023, a penalty   worth de 0.0740 per cent would be paid for each day of delay related to the 2023 year. The tax can be paid also online, through the MPay governmental service of electronic payments.
