Moldovan president at Sports Gala says victories represent convincing proof of Moldova's ability

Chisinau, 16 December /MOLDPRES/ - President Maia Sandu on 15 December participated in the Sports Gala, during which she congratulated the sportspeople on the performances achieved and appreciated their effort in the work carried out every day, the presidential press service has reported.

„Today we celebrate the sport – the power which unites people, countries and continents. At the Sports Gala, we summed up the 2023 year,’’ the head of state said.

Maia Sandu stressed that the entire Moldova was proud of the results of the sportsmen and sportswomen, who also this year got a record number of medals at international competitions – 535!

„These victories, gained through work, will and sacrifice, represent a convincing proof that Moldova is able. I congratulated the sportspeople on behalf of all people; I assured them of our respect, gratitude and appreciation. Our champions proved that Moldova can gain outstanding victories at the most prestigious competitions, bringing us international recognition,’’ the Moldovan president added.
