Moldovan parliament ratified Convention on Violence and Harassment in the World of Work

Chisinau, 28 December /MOLDPRES/ - The parliament today ratified the International Labour Organization’s (ILO) Convention No 190 on Violence and Harassment in the World of Work.
The Convention is the first international instrument which establishes specific standards applicable in the world, as to the combating of the harassment and violence dealing with the work and which specifies the measures needed to be taken by states and other relevant actors. The document protects the workers from the formal and informal economy, including the volunteers, probationers and apprentices. The ratification and implementation by Moldova of the Convention will contribute to the improvement of the legislation and to the settlement of more problems appeared in practice.
International Labour Organization’s (ILO) Convention No 190 on Violence and Harassment in the World of Work was adopted in Geneva on 21 June 2019 and entered into force on 25 June 2021. So far, 36 states have ratified the Convention, among which Greece, Albania, Italy, Spain, France, the United Kingdom and Canada.
