Over 1,000 schools, kindergartens do not work over weather conditions in Moldova today

Chisinau, 9 January /MOLDPRES/ - A number of 1,002 early education institutions and primary schools, gymnasiums and lyceums extended their winter vacation and did not work today. Most of them – 293 – are from the Chisinau city. Decisions to this effect were taken by the local authorities, in the context of the weather conditions.     

According to the Education and Research Ministry, 54 schools and kindergartens remained closed in Anenii Noi, Orhei - 47, Floresti - 45, Ungheni - 45, Sangerei - 39, Falesti - 33, Ialoveni - 33, Nisporeni - 32, Taraclia - 31, Causeni - 30, Telenești - 30, Criuleni - 29, Cantemir - 28, Calarasi - 26, Stefan Voda - 26, Rezina - 25, Straseni - 25, Glodeni - 24, Balti - 23, Soldanesti - 20, Cimislia - 19, Leova - 14, Dubasari - 13. 

Another 24 schools of Moldova held their classes online.   

At the same time, in some districts, the schools resumed the education process starting from today. It is about Basarabeasca, Briceni, Cahul (except for one education institution), Donduseni, Drochia, Edinet, Hancesti (except for eight schools), Ocnita, Rascani, Soroca and the Autonomous Territorial Unit of Gagauzia (except for eight education institutions).     

The schools which prolonged their winter vacation will establish the way of the classes’ recovery jointly with the local/municipal competent bodies.
