Moldovan president on visit to Timisoara city of Romania

Chisinau, 13 January /MOLDPRES/ - President Maia Sandu is on a visit to the Timisoara city, Romania, in this week-end. The head of state says that this is a European city both through its cultural diversity and riches and though its historical role in the Romanians’ fight for freedom and democracy, the presidential press service has reported.
„I was happy to arrive here after a year when Timisoara had the title of cultural capital; on this occasion I thank Mayor Dominic Fritz for invitation. I was deeply impressed by the exhibition dedicated to Constantin Brancusi at the National Art Museum, where I was accompanied by the president of the Timis County Council, Alin Nica,’’ the Moldovan president said.
Also, President Maia Sandu referred to the advantages to be EU member state: ‘’Timisoara, which benefited from Romania’s accession to the European Union, is a good example of what Europe represents: freedom and well-being, decent jobs, modern infrastructure and a rich cultural life. What we see in Timisoara, what we see in the European cities, we what for Moldova as well.’’
