Chisinau, 13 January /MOLDPRES/ - President Maia Sandu today afternoon met again Her Majesty Margareta, the Custodian of the Crown of Romania and His Royal Highness Prince Radu, who hosted the head of state at the Royal Castle from Savarsin, not far from the Timisoara city. The Moldovan president said that she had enjoyed a warm reception and had good discussions on the excellent relations between Moldova and Romania, the presidential press service has reported.
„I thanked Her Majesty for the love she had for our country and people, as well as for her firm support, which gets us even closer to our European dream. The European Union’s positive decision from last December to launch the negotiations on accession with Moldova is due also to the fact that Her Majesty Margareta and His Royal Highness Prince Radu promoted in the European capitals the Moldovans’ aspirations to become members of the European family,’’ the Moldovan president said.
Also, during the visit, the head of state planted an oak-tree on the alley of Old Oak-trees in the park of the royal estate, as a token of the close friendship between Moldova and the Royal Family of Romania.
