Serious cross-border threats to health to be managed through national focal point

Chisinau, 17 Jan. /MOLDPRES/- Serious cross-border threats to health will be monitored through the Early Warning and Rapid Response System managed by the National Public Health Agency. A draft decision was approved at today's cabinet meeting, at the initiative of the Ministry of Health, the government's communication department has reported.
The document sees the procedures for notification of alerts, exchange of information and coordination of responses to serious cross-border threats to health, in order to establish the necessary measures to protect public health.
The mechanism will ensure the exchange of information with health system institutions and competent authorities at both national and international levels, including the World Health Organization and the European Union.
