Moldovan MPs to attend winter session of Parliamentary Assembly of Council of Europe

Chisinau, 19 Jan. /MOLDPRES/- Moldovan parliamentary delegation will attend winter session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) on 22-26 January in Strasbourg.
According to the parliament's communication and public relations department, the delegation is led by MP Ion Groza and it includes deputy speakers Mihail Popșoi and Vlad Batrîncea, as well as MPs Natalia Davidovici and Adela Răileanu.
The session agenda includes discussions on recent developments in the Middle East, cases of torture in European detention facilities, improper use of the legal system, freedom of press and security of journalists, globalization during crisis and war, child abuse in European institutions, the situation of children in Ukraine, the trials in Belarus, the elections in Serbia.
New PACE president and vice-presidents, as well as Council of Europe Commissioner for Human Rights will be elected at the winter session.
The Republic of Moldova has been a member of the Council of Europe since 1995.
