Moldovan National Food Safety Agency informs about more hotbeds of bird flu detected on last period

Chisinau, 22 January /MOLDPRES/ - The National Food Safety Agency (ANSA) today informed about the epizootic situation in Moldova and in the region for the last ten days, which shows more hotbeds of bird flu.
According to ANSA, on the period 12.01.2024–19.01.2024, more hotbeds of (H5N1) highly pathogenic bird flu were registered. „It is about a hotbed in domestic birds at a non-professional exploitation from the northern Soldanesti, Poiana village; a hotbed in domestic birds at a non-professional exploitation from the Rascani district, Borosenii Noi village; one hotbed of bird flu at a non-professional exploitation from the Dubasari district, Oxentea village; five hotbeds in domestic birds at non-professional exploitations from the Soroca district, Parcani village,’’ ANSA said.
„The Emergency Anti-epizootic Commission was urgently summoned, which approved a plan of measures for combating and eradication of the hotbed of bird flu, according to the provisions of the government decision for the approval of the sanitary and veterinary norm as to the measures of supervision, control and combating of the bird flu, on the contingency plan and the operational manual for the control of bird flu. As a result, a protection area of 3 km and areas of supervision of 10 km were established,’’ the quoted source noted.
The National Food Safety Agency urges the owners and breeders of birds to keep the latter inside yards and upon noticing clinical symptoms, immediately inform the veterinary staff.
