Sixteen people injured in the wake of traffic accidents in Moldova in last week-end

Chisinau, 22 January /MOLDPRES/ - Sixteen people were injured in the wake of 11 serious traffic accidents in the last week-end.
Contacted by MOLDPRES, the press officer of the National Public Security Inspectorate (INSP), Natalia Golovco, said that ‘’no person died in the wake of the traffic accidents.’’
At the same time, on the last days-off, over 3,200 drivers committed infringements in the road traffic. Thus, 34 drivers were detected driving drunk, of whom 20 were discovered in an advanced state of ebriety. All drunk drivers were removed from driving.
Also, 1,625 people infringed the speed regime and 631 did not observe the priority road signs and the traffic light’s ban lights. At the same time, 115 drivers were driving without their safety belt coupled and 520 stopped the transport unit in forbidden places.
Also, 209 people were driving vehicles which had not been subjected to annual technical inspection and in the lack of the civil liability insurance for car owners and 72 drivers did not give legal priority to pedestrians.
On this period, patrol inspectors intervened in 280 cases, calls received at the 112 single phone number.
