Moldovan president discusses Moldova's accession to EU with ambassadors of France, Germany

Chisinau, 22 January /MOLDPRES/ - President Maia Sandu today met Ambassador of France to Moldova Graham Paul and Ambassador of Germany Margret Uebber, on the occasion of the Elysee Treaty’s anniversary. The document laid the foundations of the French-German partnership and is regarded as the driving force for the creation and development of the European Union, following the World War II, the presidential press service has reported.
The Moldovan head of state showed gratitude for the support of France and Germany on the country’s European integration way, for the creation, along with Romania, of the Moldova Support Platform, as well as for the cooperation in the defence sector.
At the same time, the Moldovan president reaffirmed the commitment for the continuation of the reforms for the consolidation of the rule of law state, ensuring the state’s security and ensuring the well-being of Moldova’s citizens, so that the country aligns with the European standards and gets the status of member of the European Union as soon as possible.
