Moldovan president meets Danish foreign affairs minister

Chisinau, 25 January /MOLDPRES/ - President Maia Sandu today had a meeting with Foreign Affairs Minister of Denmark Lars Løkke Rasmussen, on a working visit to Chisinau, the presidential press service has reported.

Maia Sandu welcomed the opening of the Embassy of the Kingdom of Denmark in Chisinau, stressing that this represented a new phase in the relation with Denmark. The diplomatic mission will contribute to the boosting of the political dialogue, will stimulate the trade and the relations between people.

During the discussions, the head of state expressed gratitude to the Danish leaders for the constant support provided by Denmark to Moldova in the process of modernization and accession to the European Union. The Moldovan president also emphasized the firm commitment to continue and foster the reforms underway, in order to improve the living of the people and get the capacity of EU member as soon as possible.
