Chisinau, 27 January /MOLDPRES/ - The officials of the national beneficiary institutions and Council of Europe’s representatives have discussed the level of implementation of the present stage of the projects within the Council of Europe’s action plan for Moldova 2021-2024.
The event, the goal of which was to assess the progress made so far in the implementation of the action plan, was moderated by the director of the Council of Europe’s Programme Management, Claus Neukirch, and the state secretary of the Foreign Affairs and European Integration Ministry (MAEIE), Vladimir Cuc.
Claus Neukirch said that Moldova’s support in the implementation of its agenda of democratic reforms stayed a priority for the Council of Europe, especially in the process of accession to the European Union. ‘’We will continue backing Moldova through the present action plan 2021-2024, as well as in the long run,’’ the official also said.
„I think that we are everybody aware of the importance of the action plan for the national institutions of any level, the projects of which are fully connected to Moldova’s goals, including the ones of European integration. The support provided to our country is in so much valuable, in the context of the challenges we face, of the regional and world crises, as well as of the consequences of the war in the neighbour country, Ukraine,’’ the state secretary of MAEIE, Vladimir Cuc, said.
At the event, the beneficiary institutions from Moldova made topic-related presentations according to the sectors within their competence. They invoked the direct impact of the projects on the processes of reform, the progress made, the difficulties faced in the process of implementation, as well as the priorities of the future.
The Council of Europe’s action plan for Moldova 2021-2024 includes 17 sectors of intervention, with an overall budget of about 24 million euros. This is an instrument of strategic programming, meant to further adjust the national legislation, institutions and practices of Moldova to the European standards as regards the human rights, rule of law state and democracy.
