Roadmen finish works on rehabilitation of segment on Chisinau city's belt road

Chisinau, 27 January /MOLDPRES/ - The State Administration of Roads (ASD) has informed about the final reception of the works on rehabilitation of the belt road of the Chisinau city - M2, Segment 1.   

The commission for final reception, after the expiration of the guarantee period, on 26 January established that all objections mentioned in the official report from the finishing of the works had been removed. ‘’The entrepreneur ensured the rehabilitation of the belt road with four traffic lanes, the segment comprised between km 0.00-6.55, which included the reconstruction of the present road system, the setting of about 134 road signs, building of two intersections with roundabout, rehabilitation of five existing small bridges and the construction of five new bridges,’’ ASD said.   

The rehabilitated segment is placed 10 km to the west of Chisinau and has a length of 6.5 km. The project’s general goal regarded the rehabilitation of this road segment according to the European standards, with the goal to relieve the traffic for the belt road of the Chisinau city, reduce the traffic jams, as well as enhance the level of safety and comfort for the participants in the traffic.  

The contractual value of the works is of about 9.9 million euros – money allocated from a loan provided by the European Investment Bank to Moldova’s government.
