Chisinau, 29 Jan. /MOLDPRES/- The laboratories of the Faculty of Energetics and Electrical Engineering of the Technical University of Moldova (UTM) were provided with modern equipment worth 542 thousand dollars, with the support of USAID and British Embassy, as part of Moldova Energy Security Activity (MESA).
The equipment will be used to set up one of the most modern energy engineering laboratories in the country, where young engineers will be able to gain hands-on skills in new areas such as renewable energy, electricity storage and electric transport.
The equipment is unique in the country and was donated to facilitate the access of UTM students to innovative training technologies. They will be able to learn the processes of generating energy from renewable sources and storing it in the form of hydrogen. Young people will be able to study the basics of the operation of power plants used for the production, transport and use of energy in various sectors of the economy.
MESA project lasts four years, and USAID will invest at least 60 million dollars in the consolidation and diversification of the energy sector of the country.
