Over 2,200 drivers fined for infringement of traffic rules in Moldova on last days-off

Chisinau, 29 January /MOLDPRES/ - Over 2,200 drivers were fined for the infringement of traffic rules on the last days-off.
According to the General Police Inspectorate (IGP), 17 drivers were prevented from driving, as they were detected driving drunk. At the same time, 749 people were sanctioned for exceeding the speed limit and 94 – for failure to couple the safety belts.
Also, 405 drivers were fined for the non-observance of road signs and 65 – for failure to give priority to pedestrians. Also, 276 drivers were sanctioned for stopping in banned places.
On the last days off, policemen intervened in 143 cases – calls received at the 112 single phone number.
