Moldovan parliament speaker, delegation of Lithuania's Seimas discuss parliamentary agenda for 2024

Chisinau, 30 January /MOLDPRES/ - Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu and the members of the delegation of the group for inter-parliamentary relations of Lithuania’s Seimas (parliament), led by Kazys Starkevicius, discussed the parliamentary agenda for 2024 today. At the meeting, the Moldovan parliament speaker said that the Lithuanian experience was important for Moldova, especially in the context that country is in the phase of adjusting its national legislation, the parliament’s communication and public relations department has reported.       

At the same time, Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu conveyed a message of thanks to the members of the delegation for backing on the European integration way of Moldova and for the assistance provided, as regards the expertise in such sectors as agriculture or renewable energy. ‘’I was happy to learn that, during this visit, they are to meet farmers from Cahul and Soroca. Just as the Lithuanian partners said, from their own experience: the European Union means investments in agriculture, education, medicine and the country’s security,’’ Igor Grosu said.     

The Lithuanian delegation is on a visit to Moldova on 30 January - 1 February. At the parliament, the Lithuanian MPs have established meetings with the head of commission for foreign policy and European integration, Doina Gherman, the head of the commission for economy, budget and finances, Radu Marian, and the head of the commission for agriculture and food industry, Alexandr Trubca. Also, the delegation members discussed with the head of the parliamentary friendship group with Lithuania, Ion Babici.
