Moldovan president has meeting with foreign affairs minister of Canada

Chisinau, 30 January /MOLDPRES/ - President Maia Sandu today met Foreign Affairs Minister of Canada Mélanie Joly, on a working visit to Moldova, the presidential press service has reported.   

At the meeting, the head of state showed appreciation for the ever closer bilateral relation. President Maia Sandu thanked the Canadian authorities for the support of Moldova in the process of modernization, reforms’ implementation and consolidation of institutions.   

At the same time, President Maia Sandu highlighted the continuous efforts of the Canadian authorities for the creation of a common front against the corrupt people who try to destabilize the situation in Moldova. The officials tackled also the subject on the security in the region, as Canada provides an important support to Ukraine. In the context, Maia Sandu stressed that the international support for Ukraine must continue, as this is the guarantee of peace in Moldova and on the entire continent.
