Moldovan president has meeting with director general of U.S. International Development Finance Corporation

Chisinau, 31 January /MOLDPRES/ - President Maia Sandu today met Director General of the United States International Development Finance Corporation (DFC) Scott Nathan, the presidential press service has reported.

The financial institution has the goal to promote private investments, in order to support the economic development of the developing countries and provide financing to settle global challenges.

At the discussions, the head of state encouraged the investments in private companies from Moldova, in order to stimulate the economic growth and create safe and well-paid jobs, which will contribute to a better life for the Moldovan citizens. The president reiterated the Moldovan authorities’ firm commitment to improve the investment climate, reform the justice, adopt digital technologies in the business environment and simplify the regulations in the economy.

At the meeting, the sides discussed the investment potential in key sectors: infrastructure, energy, with emphasis on renewable sources, agriculture and the sector of small- and medium-sized enterprises.
