Head of state watched documentary "I love you, Ion and Doina"

Chisinau, Feb. 1 /MOLDPRES/- On Wednesday evening, President Maia Sandu watched the documentary "I love you, Ion and Doina" directed by Leontina Vatamanu at Odeon Cinema, the presidential press service has reported.

"Leontina's film, made with sensitivity, documentary accuracy, as well as with an immense admiration for heroes, teleported us in time, immersing us, for several tens of minutes, in the emotional intensity of that era, of those times that we all lived them - with hope, but also with desperate tenacity".

The head of state recalled that Doina and Ion Aldea-Teodorovici were and remain the most beautiful symbol of the National Renaissance: "Their energy, talent, beauty and faith in the country fascinated entire generations, and their songs are immortal. I thank Leontina for this emotional reunion and congratulate her for the beautiful way she decided to celebrate her 50th anniversary."
