Moldovan peacekeepers deployed to Kosovo started work

Chisinau, Feb. 1 /MOLDPRES/- Moldovan peacekeepers of the 20th contingent of the National Army, recently deployed to the KFOR peacekeeping operation have started mandate in Kosovo.
The 20th contingent of the National Army consists of 41 professional soldiers, including seven generals and a platoon of 33 soldiers, and for the first time, four military women also participate in the peacekeeping mission.
The peacekeepers will carry out the guarding and defense of infrastructure objectives of strategic importance, missions to ensure the security of the Camp Vilaggio Italia base, including the Visoki Dečani Monastery, as well as research and detection of explosive objects in the area of responsibility.
According to the Ministry of Defense, Moldovan peacekeepers have been participating in the KFOR peacekeeping mission since 2014.
