Parliament appoints new member to commission for external evaluation of ethical and financial integrity of prosecutors

Chisinau, Feb. 1 /MOLDPRES/- Nadejda Hriptievschi was appointed today as a member of the Commission for external evaluation of ethical and financial integrity of prosecutors (vetting). A draft decision was adopted by the Parliament today.
Nadejda Hriptievschi's candidacy was proposed by the Action and Solidarity Party faction. She is the founder of the Moldovan Legal Resources Center. Previously, in 2013 - 2018, Hriptievschi was a member of the European Commission against Racism and Intolerance. She has been a member of the Lawyers' Union of Moldova since 2011, her areas of expertise being the judicial system, state-guaranteed legal assistance and non-discrimination.
The external evaluation commission is made up of six members, appointed with the vote of 3/5 of the number of elected deputies. Three candidacies are proposed by the development partners, and the rest – by the parliamentary factions, respecting the proportional representation of the majority and the opposition.
