Moldovan president has meeting with delegation of Lithuanian parliament

Chisinau, 1 February /MOLDPRES/ - President Maia Sandu has met a group of MPs from Lithuania, on a working visit to Chisinau, the presidential press service reported.

At the meeting, the head of state expressed gratitude for the support provided in the process of Moldova’s European integration and especially for Lithuania’s backing in the adoption of the decision on the starting of the negotiations on accession to the European Union. 

President Maia Sandu welcomed the willingness of the Lithuanian partners to share their country’s experience on joining the EU. The head of state stressed that Moldova’s accession to the European Union stayed a priority on the agenda of the Moldovan governance, which will continue the reforms to this end.  

At the same time, Maia Sandu highlighted the importance of the bilateral relations with Lithuania, especially the economic cooperation and the one in the security and defence sector, in the context of multiple regional challenges.
