Number of employees of Moldova's Anticorruption Prosecutor's Office to be increased

Chisinau, 1 February /MOLDPRES/ - The limit staff of the Anticorruption Prosecutor’s Office (PA) has been increased by 54 personnel units. The parliament today adopted a draft law to this effect.   

The legislative initiative belongs to a group of MPs of the Action and Solidarity Party (PAS) and was worked out in the context of the fulfillment of the Law No 245/2023, through which the power of the Anticorruption Prosecutor’s Office was established at the investigation of the high-level corruption causes.    

The informative note reads that ‘’the adoption of the present draft will create premises for enhancing the institutional capacities of the Anticorruption Prosecutor’s Office, so that the staff is capable to correctly and efficiently manage the measures for the prevention and combating of corruption and the institution has possibility to properly exercise the duties assigned under the law.’’   

The enforcement of this draft will need the earmarking of financial means from the state budget.
