Moldovan physicians to be subjected to attestation once in 5 years, in way established by Health Ministry

Chisinau, 1 February /MOLDPRES/ - The physicians will be subjected to the attestation of their knowledge, theoretical competences and practical skills, with the establishment of the qualification degree, once in 5 years, in the way set by the Health Ministry. The MPs today voted, in the second reading, two amendments to the Law on the exercising of the profession of physician.      

The goal of this legislative initiative is to adjust the provisions of the Law to the new standards, dictated by the modernization of the processes, systems and methodologies in the exercising of the profession of physician. The document’s authors propose the change of some terms, such as the defining of new principles used in the health system, but which are not provided for in the normative act.    

Thus, the Law on the exercising of the profession of physician is completed with new definitions which refer to the professional competence, medical error, personalized treatment, professional independence. The draft also sees the detailing and completion of the cases in which the physician has right to refuse the carrying out of the intervention and to send the patient to another physician.  

The physicians will also be subjected to the attestation of their knowledge, theoretical competences and practical skills, with the establishment of the qualification degree, once in 5 years, in the way set by the Health Ministry.

The draft on the amendment of the Law on the exercising of the profession of physician was worked out by the lawmakers of the faction of the Action and Solidarity Party, Ana Oglinda and Adrian Belii.
