President discussed with several journalists about referendum on European integration of Moldova

Chisinau, Feb. 13 /MOLDPRES/- President Maia Sandu discussed today with a group of journalists from the national and regional press about referendum on the accession of the Republic of Moldova to the European Union.

According to the presidential press service, the head of state said that the press has an important role for the conduct of democratic processes in the country, including plebiscites, and answered journalists' questions about the referendum. Maia Sandu also referred to the risks in the information space, including the phenomena of disinformation, propaganda and manipulation of citizens. A good collaboration of state institutions and civil society with the professional press will help reduce these risks.

This is the third meeting with journalists to discuss this year's referendum, and is part of a series of consultations with representatives of different communities and groups in society.
