Flats disconnected from centralized heating supply system can receive compensations for thermal agent in Moldova

Chisinau, 14 February /MOLDPRES/ - The flats disconnected from the central heating supply system can receive compensations for the invoices for thermal agent, in accordance with the energy vulnerability degree provided. The compensations will be paid for the entire heating season 2023-2024.   

According to the Labour and Social Protection Ministry (MMPS), in the case of the consumers disconnected from the centralized system of supply with thermal energy (SACET), who registered on the platform www.compensatii.gov.md, but did not introduce the number of the consumption place (NLC) for thermal energy, the changes will be carried out automatically by the information system and the beneficiaries will receive compensations for thermal agent retroactively. The consumers disconnected, who did not register on the platform, can receive compensations only after the filling in of the application and the providing of the vulnerability degree, starting with the month when they registered on the platform.      

„The measures were instructed following a joint meeting of MMPS, Energy Ministry, the decision-makers of the enterprises from the sector and experts, in order to back the energy vulnerable households, after more objective factors led, in some cases, to disproportionate invoices for last December,’’ MMPS said.   

At the same time, the Energy Ministry asked the enterprises from the sector to improve the mechanism of informing the consumers, including through increasing the number of employees of the centres of informing the consumers.  

About 10,445 households out of those 26,837 disconnected flats from the Chisinau city received compensations. In the case of the Balti municipality, 9,987 families are disconnected from the thermal agent and 5,370 of them have benefited from compensations so far. In the previous season, the consumers disconnected from the thermal agent received compensations from the Energy Vulnerability Reduction Fund, for covering the costs dealing with the heating of the common spaces of the blocks of flats.   

Also, in the context of enhancing the energy efficiency and of the consumption of energy, the Energy Ministry recommends as long-term solution the setting of Individual Thermal Points and the change of the systems of distribution of thermal agent into a horizontal one, with individual meter in each apartment, so that the thermal comfort is regulated autonomously by each consumer and the real consumption is invoiced. In this respect, the National Centre for Sustainable Energy starting from this year will invest in the energy efficiency of the residential sector.
