Moldovan speaker meets Romanian senators

Chisinau, February 14 /MOLDPRES/- Our security agenda is one of the priorities of the parliament, especially in the current context in the region. Speaker Igor Grosu made the statement at today's meeting with President of the Committee for Defense, Public Order and National Security of the Romanian Senate Nicoleta Pauliuc.

According to the parliament's communication and public relations department, in the discussion with the Romanian parliamentarians, Grosu said that the expertise and help of the development partners is important, Romania being a strong ally of the Republic of Moldova.

"Together with Nicoleta Pauliuc and members of both committees, we will find the best practices through which we will manage to protect our citizens, the country and jointly manage the consequences of the aggression Russia against Ukraine. Past days, remains of Shahed drones were found in the south of Moldova, that's why it is extremely important to increase our defense capabilities", said Grosu.

The MPs exchanged views on combating propaganda and fake news aimed at destabilizing the situation in the region, agreeing to continue working actively at the level of parliamentary security committees.
