National Anticorruption Centre's officers make new searches in criminal file is dispossession of Chisinau city hall of public lands

Chisinau, 15 February /MOLDPRES/ - An organized crime ring is prosecuted by the National Anticorruption Centre (CNA) for the embezzlement of 29 lands worth 135 million lei from the patrimony of the Chisinau city hall.    

According to CNA, the decision-makers of a public association, in complicity with identified people, while acting in the interest of an organized crime ring, dispossessed the Chisinau city hall from public lands in the built-up area of the Chisinau municipality.

The members of the crime ring, of whom two bailiffs, in 2014-2016 organized fictitious tenders, as a result of which they gained the ownership of 29 public lands of the local public administration, thus causing a damage worth over 135 million lei to the Chisinau city hall.   

Thus, to accumulate the case evidence, CNA authorized five searches at the homes, offices and transport means owned by two accomplices; anti-corruption officers also raised objects and documents of interest for the criminal file. The people concerned in the criminal prosecution actions have the procedural capacity of suspects.
