Chisinau, 15 February /MOLDPRES/ - The Corten village from the southern Taraclia district on 14 February hosted the traditional holiday of Bulgarian culture, dedicated to the fertility and agriculture – Trifon Zarezan, associated with the taking care of the vine.
This year, government officials, representatives of the diplomatic corps and parliament members were invited to the event. The guests got involved in a ritual of symbolical cutting of vine, hoping for a rich harvest.
Attending the event, Deputy Prime Minister, Agriculture and Food Industry Minister Vladimir Bolea conveyed a congratulatory message, in which he expressed admiration and gratitude for the work of the vine-growers. ‘’I was born in the south of Moldova – a region with wine-making and vine-growing traditions. A was brought up among people who dedicated their entire lives to the cultivation of vine. I saw the special relation between vine-growers and each vine sprout. This activity is a lifestyle which contributes not only to the national economy, but also to the country’s cultural wealth,’’ Vladimir Bolea said.
