Nicolae Testemitanu Medical University only institution of Moldova present in SCImago Institutions Rankings 2023

Chisinau, 16 February /MOLDPRES/ - The Nicolae Testemitanu State University of Medicine and Pharmacy is the only higher education institution of Moldova present in the SCImago Institutions Rankings 2023. The institution is on the 3,898th position in the world out of the 4,533 higher education institutions and ranks 324th among those 439 universities from the Eastern Europe included in this ranking.   

USMF records the best index in terms of the pulmonary and respiratory medicine; thus, it ranks 1,262nd in the world and is on the 22nd position among the institutions from the East European region.   

SCIMAGO is a ranking of higher education and research institutions classified through a composite indicator, which contains three series of indicators based on the performance of the research (50 per cent), results of the innovation (30 per cent) and the societal impact (20 per cent), measured through their visibility on web.     

In the General SCIMAGO ranking, USMF Nicolae Testemitanu is on the 7,566th position in the world among 8,433 institutions; it ranks 553rd among 803 institutions from the Eastern Europe included in the ranking and ranks second nationally following the Academy of Sciences of Moldova.
