Moldovan president attends inauguration of first computerized tomograph endowed with artificial intelligence system

Chisinau, 16 February /MOLDPRES/ - President Maia Sandu today attended the inauguration of the first computerized tomograph endowed with artificial intelligence system at the Cardiology Institute. The tomograph will allow a much more accurate diagnosing of the diseases of the cardiovascular system – the principal reason for the deaths in Moldova and will help save more lives, the presidential press service has reported.
„In the last two years, we have invested much to modernize our hospitals. In 2022 alone, we invested a record sum, more than 1 billion 00 million lei, in medical equipment for republican, district and municipal hospitals and we will continue doing this, as we want our people to be healthy,’’ Maia Sandu said.
The head of state said that, in all, 12 last generation tomographs had been already set or were in process of setting at hospitals from Moldova. Almost six million euros was allocated for this equipment from funds of the government and of development partners.
„This year too, the public medical institutions will be endowed with equipment worth tens of millions of euros. We will continue investing in the quality of our medical system and to improve the level of health of the country’s people,’’ President Maia Sandu said.
