Moldovan president says honest business can be done in Moldova

Chisinau, 20 February /MOLDPRES/ - President Maia Sandu today participated in EBA Business Outlook 2024, an event organized by EBA Moldova. The head of state referred to the efforts taken by the governance to improve the business environment and the perspectives opened by the European integration for Moldova’s economy, the presidential press service has reported.   

At the event, Maia Sandu said that ‘’honest business can be done in the European Moldova!’’. She stressed that a stronger economy, integrated in the single European market, means more well-paid jobs, more contributions to the country’s budget and more investments for improving the people’s living conditions.    

„The European Union means unprecedented opportunities for Moldova’s economy. My message to the business environment is to actively participate in the process of accession to EU and to regard this effort as an investment into a better and safer future for all of us,’’  the head of state said.   

Also, the Moldovan president noted that, through the reforms carried out on the last period, more freedom had been provided to the entrepreneurs, investors, companies and the entire economy, more space in which the businesses can grow and can develop. In 2023 alone, through the regulation measures adopted, the entrepreneurs saved the equivalent of about 0.5 per cent of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and over a half of the services accessed by the business environment works in digital regime.         

„The European Union widely opened us the door; now, time is ripe for us to resolutely advance on this way – the only chance for Moldova’s transformation into a prosperous, safe and democratic state. Let us be confident in the European Moldova!’’ Maia Sandu added.
