Moldovan Environment Agency has new leadership

Chisinau, 21 February /MOLDPRES/ -Environment Minister Iordanca-Rodica Iordanov today introduced the new leadership of the Environment Agency to staff.
The new director of the Environment Agency, Dorin Poverjuc, who was appointed through detaching, has earlier worked at the Inspectorate for Environmental Protection. Afterwards, he was appointed acting deputy director of the Environment Agency. He is bachelor of laws and has worked in the environment sector for more than 20 years.
Also, Radu Stratuta was appointed, by transfer, deputy director of the Environment Agency. Stratuta has earlier acted as deputy director of Moldova’s Waters Agency; he is bachelor of laws and has worked in the environment field for about ten years.
The Environment Agency is administrative authority subordinated to the Environment Ministry in charge of implementation of the state’s policy in the sectors of work: prevention of environment’s pollution; protection of the atmospheric air and the climate changes; protection and regulation of the use of the water resources. The Agency’s basic duties consist in ensuring the implementation of the documents of public policies and of the legislation on the environmental protection both nationally and locally.
