Moldovan president, representatives of National Olympic Committee, more sportspeople discuss referendum on accession to EU

Chisinau, 23 February /MOLDPRES/ - A new round of public consultations on the subject of referendum concerning Moldova’s accession to the European Union took place at the Presidency’s headquarters today. Coaches and sportspeople from Moldova, who achieved performances at international competitions, participated in the discussions with President Maia Sandu.
The head of state said that the European integration was about and human dignity, about safety, well-being and development, was a project of all citizens and not of one politician or a single political party.
The Moldovan president thanked the sportspeople for the promotion of the country’s image through the results they achieve at European and international competitions. Maia Sandu urged them to promote the sport in education institutions and in Moldova’s settlements. It is important that we have a young and sound generation, which is to contribute to the country’s development and to a future in the European Union.
The consultations will continue in the weeks to come as well.
