Moldova's National Motor Transport Agency asks operators to uninterruptedly provide road transport services

Chisinau, 25 February /MOLDPRES/ - The National Motor Transport Agency (ANTA) has come up with a call to the road transport operators, thereby asking them to ensure the observing the need of citizens’ mobility, by uninterrupted providing of road transport services, so as ‘’to avoid the infringement of people’s rights and the creation of difficulties of access to the quality public services.’’         

ANTA, in its capacity of authority subordinated to the central specialty body in the road transport sector, reminds the operators of road transport authorized in road transportation of people through regular services in the local, district, inter-district and international traffic about the commitments taken with the request and getting of the permissive acts for this activity, to ensure the coming and the leaving in time of road vehicles, in a proper technical and sanitary state and also to ensure the carriage of people in conditions of safety and comfort, according to the schedule approved and the regulations in the sector in force.   

The non-observance of the provisions of the Code of road transports of Moldova entails the sanctioning with fine worth from 240 (12,000 lei) to 270 (13,500 lei) conventional units, imposed to person holding managerial position and fine worth from 400 (20,000 lei) to 450 (22,500 lei) conventional units, imposed to the legal entity, under the Contravention Code.   

„If the road transport operator does not monthly carry out at least 10 per cent of all routes envisaged in the movement schedule during three months in a row or does not carry out 30 per cent at the most of all routes provided for in the movement schedule during one calendar month, except for the routes suspended because of the road’s state or of the unfriendly weather conditions, found out by the body in charge of the concerned road segment, as well as the committing, during 12 consecutive months, at the same route, of five infringements concerning the non-observance of the itinerary and movement schedule, the Agency withdraws the authorization of road transport of people through regular services in the local, municipal, district and inter-district traffic,’’ ANTA said.     

ANTA reiterates the compulsoriness to observe the legislation in the road transport field, as well as to support the needs of citizens’ mobility, through the fulfillment of the commitments taken and correct work of the transports of passengers, the quoted source added.
