Moldovan PM meets American official

Chisinau, 26 February /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Dorin Recean and Deputy Assistant Secretary for Eastern Europe and Policy and Regional Affairs in the Bureau of European and Eurasian Affairs at the United States’ Department of State Christopher W. Smith, at a today’s meeting, discussed the regional situation, as well as practical ways in which the United States can support Moldova in the implementation of the reforms and advancement on the European agenda, the government’s communication department has reported.
The PM appreciated the consistent support of the United States for Moldova’s modernization, improvement of the people’s living standards and stimulation of the economic growth. Prime Minister Dorin Recean welcomed the decision on the inclusion of the people in charge of the actions undermining Moldova’s security in the list of USA’s sanctions.
The sides discussed the Moldovan government’s priorities, among which the reformation of justice and the fight against corruption, improvement of the business environment for the attraction of foreign investors, who, by their work carried out in Moldova, can contribute to the reconstruction of Ukraine as well. In the context, the officials reconfirmed the commitment to support Ukraine, which fights for the peace and stability of the entire European continent.
