Moldova to host International Mayors Summit for the first time ever

Chisinau, 1 March /MOLDPRES/ - Moldova will host the International Mayors Summit (IMS) in the Danceni settlement, central Ialoveni district, for the first time ever on 11 April 2024.  

The Summit, which has reached its fifth edition, will bring together mayors, local leaders and experts, in order to initiate discussions on such subjects as sustainability, impact of the technology on the urban management and strategies for strengthening the resilience of communities. The event titled, Resilient communities through innovation and cooperation, is aimed at introducing innovating approaches for the urban management, encouraging the sustainable development, facilitating the access to European Union’s funds and the promotion of cooperation for the reviving and strengthening of the cities.    

The emphasis of the event from this year is put on the crucial role of the mayors and local authorities in approaching the global challenges and promoting the resilience of their communities. The Summit’s agenda will include panel discussions, presentations of good practices and exhibitions.     

The International Mayors Summit was initiated in 2016. Heads of cities from all over the world participated in the previous issues of the summit, which was positioned as an essential forum for the exchange of efficient strategies, innovating solutions and convincing approaches about the urban progress.   

The International Mayors Summit is organized by the Western NIS Enterprise Fund.
