Two hospitals of Moldova receive new equipment purchased with Japan's support

Chisinau, 4 March /MOLDPRES/ - The Timofei Mosneaga Republican Clinical Hospital and the Emergency Medicine Institute today received modern medical equipment with the financial support of the government of Japan, through the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).
Attending the event on the delivery of the equipment were Health Minister Ana Nemerenco, Ambassador of Japan to Moldova Yamada Yoichiro, the representative of the JICA Office from Ukraine, Satoshi Sugimoto, the administration and the staff of the medical institutions.
Thus, eight modern operation tables and 13 mobile stretchers worth 370,000 euros in all were delivered to the Timofei Mosneaga Republican Clinical Hospital. For the Emergency Medicine Institute, the consignment donated includes five defibrillators and 16 mobile stretchers with a value of about 185,000 euros.
The equipment was bought with the financial support of the government of Japan, through JICA, and will contribute to the enhancement of the quality of the medical services provided to patients, including refugees from Ukraine.
An agreement on grant between the Health Ministry and the Japan International Cooperation Agency worth about seven million euros in all for the implementation of the programme on consolidation of the medical system was signed in November 2022. Thus, five public medical and sanitary institutions of Moldova will be endowed with the non-refundable financial support provided by the government of Japan: Timofei Mosneaga Republican Clinical Hospital, the Emergency Medicine Institute, Oncological Institute, Mother and Child Institute and the Holy Trinity Municipal Clinical Hospital.
