Moldovan president says Romania principal supporter of Moldova

Chisinau, 5 March /MOLDPRES/ - President Maia Sandu has had a meeting with Romanian President Klaus Iohannis. The officials referred to the most important subjects on the bilateral agenda: security in the region, economic cooperation, the infrastructure projects which bring the citizens from both banks of the Prut river close to each other.

„At the Cotroceni Palace, we discussed also the importance of Romania’s support in the process of accession to the European Union, including through the sharing of the experience from the period of negotiations. Romania stays the principal supporter of Moldova, the most important commercial partner within the European Union, for which we are deeply grateful,’’ the Moldovan head of state said.
