Law-enforcers detain former employees of Moldovan power wielding structures

Chisinau, 7 March /MOLDPRES/ - Former employees of power wielding institutions have been detained, suspected of having been involved in the illegal financing of certain parties. The head of the General Police Inspectorate (IGP), Viorel Cernauteanu, and the head of the Anticorruption Prosecutor’s Office (PA), Veronica Dragalin, made statements to this effect at a news conference today.
According to the quoted source, over 600,000 lei was found in the apartment were the people were detained. The money was to be used for the payment of the earlier protests, organized by a certain political force, as well as for the payment of protests which were to be held in Bucharest on 6 March.
Cernauteanu noted that over 200 people were to organize protests in Bucharest and compromise the meeting in which Moldova’s leadership participated. The protesters were to be paid with hundreds of euros by a political party.
