Section of oral maxillofacial surgery of Moldova's Emergency Medicine Institute repaired

Chisinau, 12 March /MOLDPRES/ - The section of oral maxillofacial surgery for adults, which is the only one in Moldova, has been inaugurated following the repair works. The renovation cost about 9.2 million lei (460,000 euros).  

The section, with a capacity of 32 beds, works 24 hours and is specialized in providing medical assistance to patients with diverse oral and maxillofacial pathologies, such as: inflammatory processes, benignant tumours of the soft parts of the facial skeleton, severe injuries, congenital malformations, including congenital anomalies of the head, neck, face and the jaw bone, as well as of the soft textures of the oral cavity, post-injury, post-operation sequelae.         

About 4,700 patients were treated at the section during 2021-2023, both urgently and in the planned way.  

The capital renovation of this section was possible due significant investments from sources of the national public budget worth about 9.2 million lei. About 6.2 million lei from this sum was allocated for repair works, about 880,000 lei – for the endowment with furniture and about 2.1 million lei was invested for the section’s endowment with an orthopantomograph.
