Moldovan foreign affairs minister meets Ukrainian counterpart in Kyiv

Chisinau, 13 March /MOLDPRES/ - Foreign Affairs Minister Mihai Popsoi has had a meeting Foreign Affairs Minister of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba in Kyiv.
At the meeting, the officials discussed the Moldovan-Ukrainian bilateral cooperation, the security situation in the region, as well as the steps undertaken by Moldova and Ukraine to join the European Union.
„We agreed to consolidate the bilateral dialogue between our countries and to more closely cooperate in the economic, commercial, social fields, including in the development of the cross-border infrastructure. We also discussed the progress made by both countries on the European integration dimension and ruled to boost the exchange of information and good practices in this field. Moldova and Ukraine have a common goal – to accede to the European Union as soon as possible. The natural place of Moldova and Ukraine is in the great European family,’’ the Moldovan official said.
Mihai Popsoi also said that, in Kyiv, the sides had discussed the organization of a new trilateral meeting Moldova-Ukraine-Romania, due in Chisinau in next May.
„I assured Dmytro Kuleba that Moldova would firmly support the independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, within the limits of the internationally recognized borders. Our country will provide, in continuation, political, diplomatic and humanitarian support to Ukraine,’’ Popsoi added.
