Moldovan Prosecutor General's Office asks parliament to lift parliamentary immunity of lawmaker Marina Tauber

Chisinau, 14 March /MOLDPRES/ - The Prosecutor General’s Office (PG) has asked the parliament to lift the parliamentary immunity of MP Marina Tauber. Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu today made statements to this effect in the beginning of the parliament meeting.
The official said that ‘’the request was made in connection with the sending of the criminal file to court on the deed of committing the offence of interference with the administration of justice.’’
The request is to be considered by the parliament’s juridical commission for appointments and immunities today at 12:00.
Under the parliament’s Regulation, if the MP committed an offence or a contravention, the prosecutor general can ask the parliament to lift his/her immunity, in order to take procedural measures of detaining, search, arrest or sending to court.
